Climate Program Office Director Dr. Wayne Higgins will be the luncheon speaker at the Board of Director's meeting of the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) on April 7.
The AMWA is an association of managers and CEOs of the largest publicly owned drinking water providers in the United States -- collectively serving more than 130 million people with safe drinking water.
Dr. Higgin's talk, scheduled for 12 to 1:30 p.m. on April 7, will include an update on activities in the Climate Program Office and of climate research happening at NOAA.
Americans’ health, security and economic wellbeing are tied to climate and weather. Every day, we see communities grappling with environmental challenges due to unusual or extreme events related to climate and weather.
