Recent increases in boreal forest burned area, which have been linked with climate warming, highlight the need to better understand the composition of wildfire emissions and their atmospheric impacts.

Nearly 300 participants tuned in to learn more about the potential atmospheric composition capabilities from a NOAA geo-satellite system. 

CPO-supported research team has brought widely used greenhouse gas modeling tools to NOAA Air Resources Laboratory’s HYSPLIT atmospheric dispersion model. 

A recently published study uses both satellite and in situ observations of atmospheric methane to model methane sources, removals, and trends from 2010 to 2017.

Dr. Sally Ng, an atmospheric scientist funded by CPO's Atmospheric Chemistry Carbon Cycle and Climate (AC4) program, is featured in a NOAA Research "Meet Our Scientsits" profile as part of Women's History Month.
