SCIPP RISA celebrates new logo, website

The Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program (a RISA program) is celebrating its re-designed SCIPP website. Over the past year the SCIPP team worked to simplify and make the site more functional. They also have a new logo and look.

The California Department of Water Resources recognized Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, climate researchers Dan Cayan and Mike Dettinger and Anne Steinemann, manager of a Scripps-based climate research program, as recipients of climate science service awards.

Agricultural Green Revolution as a driver of increasing atmospheric CO2 seasonal amplitude

A project supported by CPO's Modeling, Analysis, Prediction, and Projections (MAPP) and  Atmospheric Chemistry, Carbon Cycle, and Climate (AC4) programs has had new research published in Nature.  The paper, "Agricultural Green Revolution as a driver of increasing atmospheric CO2 seasonal amplitude," was published in the journal's Nov. 19, 2014 issue.

Lisa Goddard of IRI and Jim Buizer of the University of Arizona will speak at an upcoming session of USAID's Adaptation Community meetings. The presentation "Integrating Climate Information and Decision Processes for Regional Climate Resilience" will be held on Thursday, November 20 from 4-5:30pm at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

CPO Director will lead U.S. delegation to the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services

Wayne Higgins, director of OAR's Climate Program Office and the U.S. principal to the IBCS, will head the U.S. delegation to the second meeting of the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS-2) on November 10-14 in Geneva, Switzerland.
