CPO director provides U.S. leadership on the Global Framework for Climate Services

The Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) is a United Nations-led initiative that provides a worldwide mechanism for coordinated actions to enhance the quality, quantity and application of climate services.
Wayne Higgins, Director of the NOAA Climate Program Office (CPO), leads U.S. engagement in the GFCS through his role as the U.S. principal to the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS).
Dr. Higgins will head a U.S. delegation to the IBCS Management Committee meeting, being held  in Geneva, Switzerland on June 15-17. Meredith Muth (OAR/CPO), James Peronto (NWS/IA), and David Reidmiller (Department of State) will also be attending. This meeting will include discussion on mechanisms for partner engagement in the GFCS.
